B I O...  My destiny so far has been Texas.   From cowboys to farmers, my roots in this region are now five generations deep.  My ancestors were strong, independent people who gambled their  livelihoods on cotton crops and cattle.  I respect their tenacity and spirit as living connected to the land is not always easy.  My grandmothers were some of the strongest women that God has put on this earth. Their influence is still with me.

I've seen wind and hail storms wipe out cotton crops in a blink of an eye - wiping out dreams.  Oddly, I have always been fascinated by the beauty and mystical power of Texas  thunderstorms and tornados.   For better or worse, Texas has had a profound impact on my life.

Through soaring, I discovered the awesome force of Texas dust devils (thermals) that can lift a glider into the heavens at a rate often exceeding 1,000 feet per minute.  As my love for flight grew so did my passion for capturing the soaring experience on film.

My journeys to new and different places are experiences that I treasure.  I am continually fascinated by a variety of landscapes and people who have accents different from my native Texan dialect.  Through photography and soaring, my world stretches well beyond the Texas horizon.
